When the team at TheOne was discussing which charity we wanted to work with in 2011, we considered several options. After some back and forth we landed on a great institution with the St. Albans Boys & Girls Club. (843 Palmerston Avenue, Toronto).

Since the inception of our newly forged relationship TheONE has had the privilege of working with the amazing team of women and men over at St Albans.

Setting goals and spreading positivity

Our initial involvement with the Boys’& Girls’ Club involved running a goalsetting workshop, instructed by our main man LesBFresh.

We had the opportunity to work with approximately 16 youth aged between 15-22, discussing the importance of goal setting and the principals involved in making your dreams become a reality…hard work, diligence and honesty. The youth got involved and wrote down and discussed their goals and aspirations, which as we all know is the first step in achieving them! Even if your #1 goal is to marry Justin Bieber!

Music; the universal language

On our 2^nd get together TheONE was able to offer some swag to some of the amazing talents at the annual St Albans B & G Club CD release party. This year St Albans joined with another club and together they managed to release 2 separate albums.

After some amazing performances and a crazy freestyle battle we were left contemplating the amazing work that the team at St Albans Boys’ and Girls’ Club do every day over years and years to become second parents, leaders and examples to all the great youth down at the club. They definitely represent everything that TheONE believes in.

Supporting the cause

We would like to thank the team at St Albans for allowing us to work with them this year and we only hope that we can give back a fraction of what they give our community all the time. They have inspired us and we hope that in some way we can repay them for the stellar work they do by giving back.
